Activities in North Wales
North Wales can offer activities for the first time 'have a go' visitor as well as the hard-core enthusiast!
Rivers and lakes, hills and mountains, rock faces, either real or man made, as well as a hugely diverse caving system all offer opportunities to do something in the outdoors. The cycling routes & mountain bike trails developed by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority give routes to suit all abilities and fitness!
For those interested in fishing the chances are high for catching grayling & brown trout, as well as salmon on the Rivers Usk & Wye. Local reservoirs, lakes and even the canal also offer you scenic spots to get out your fishing rod.
Golf is available on eight courses throughout the National Park and as with everything else you will be playing in superb locations.

I have spent my life in the outdoors, coming as I do from an outdoor family. I have participated in just about every peaceful outdoor activity there is, on land, water and in the air. I also have an interest in the history of the area both ancient and modern.
I am an ardent supporter of the Outdoor Industry and work to promote its benefits at the highest level within the devolved Welsh Assembly Government.
I am presently undertaking an MSc in Advanced Energy & Environmental Studies at the Centre for Alternative Energy. I never thought I would go back to education, maybe that's what being forty does to you, but even the MSc is outdoor environment focussed!
All this gives me an unique perspective on the mountains that I love and this is passionately shared with my clients. -
